Greece has ALOT of islands, we all know this. It’s part of its allure and one of the reasons so many tourists flock to its shores each year. With over 6000 total islands and 227 inhabited islands, Greece has an abundance of beauty to offer for those who seek the tranquility of the sea. However I bet you dont know which country has the most islands in the world, stick around til the end and we’ll tell you, any guesses?

Back to Greece now, who amongst us hasn’t considered at least once (a day) packing everything up, leaving the hustle & bustle of our crazy lives behind, and starting over on some beautiful Greek island? Imagine waking up to the white noise of the Mediterranean Sea in the background as you prepare your morning coffee.

€2 Million

Agios Athanasios Islet, is a small private island, roughly 10,811 sq m, swimming distance from Itea (depends how good of a swimmer you are), personally, I think if you have an island you should also have a boat.

The beautiful island of St. Athanasios lies in the Gulf of Corinth, 1.5 miles from the city of Itea and a short distance from Delphi, the skiing resort of Parnassos, and the historic port of Galaxidi.

The surroundings are natural and quiet and the seawater lapping the shores is crystal-clear and rich in sea life.

This well-connected private island is located just one kilometer from shore, 8.5 kilometers from the seaport city of Kavala, and approximately 120 kilometers east of Thessaloniki. Both cities offer access to international airports, though Thessaloniki (Greece’s second-largest city) transits more flights. 

Of the island’s total area, about 7.4 acres are designated as forestland, prohibiting construction. However, the remaining 28.4 acres can be developed. While much of the island’s 1.55-mile coastline is inaccessible, some areas are suitable for development. The eastern and northern sides feature small, shallow beaches, and the interior is covered with wild olive trees, fruit trees, and native shrubs.

Sheltered by the island of Inousses (often also referred to as Oinousses) in the Chino Strait, Nisida Panteleimona delivers an ideal balance of connectivity and calm. The islands are separated by just over 250 meters of water, making transit between the two as simple as a short boat ride.

In its current state, the island features three small churches, each with its own unique history. An electrical generator serves the churches, and there is also a well for drinking water.

Atokos is a picturesque island in the Ionian Sea, located between Lefkada to the north and Ithaca to the south. Part of the northern Echinades islands, though more isolated from the cluster, Atokos covers an area of 4,400 hectares and falls under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Ithaca. Famous for its "Pig Beach," where the iconic swimming pigs roam, the island also features several serene bays ideal for anchoring boats, as well as a small house and a charming chapel.
