Want to Visit Greece? Go to Florida!
Greece could be closer than you think...

No, we are not clickbaiting you. Yes, you are going to want to read this.

Tucked along Florida’s scenic Highway 30A in the Florida Panhandle. Rosemary Beach has earned the nickname “the Greece of the US” for good reason. Its whitewashed buildings, cobblestone streets, and charming courtyards evoke the Cycladic charm of islands like Santorini or Mykonos. The town’s layout is pedestrian-friendly, with narrow streets lined with Mediterranean-style homes and boutique shops. The deep blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico shimmer like the Aegean Sea, providing a serene backdrop for both leisurely strolls and adventure-filled beach days.
There’s no shortage of things to do in Rosemary Beach. For those looking to embrace the Greek lifestyle, mornings can start with coffee at Amavida Café before heading to the pristine beach for sunbathing or paddleboarding. The town’s four community pools, including a spectacular adults-only one, provide an oasis reminiscent of Greek villa escapes.

Right next door to Rosemary Beach is the equally beautiful Alys Beach.
Its whitewashed, geometric architecture, cobblestone paths, and the contrast of lush greenery against blue waters create a Mediterranean-like atmosphere without needing a transatlantic journey. This serene, upscale community is known for amenities like the Caliza Pool, which provides a luxurious getaway and a relaxing refuge that immediately makes all your Instagram followers jealous. 😂

Alys Beach has a stronger emphasis on privacy, tranquility, and eco-conscious architecture, Alys Beach appeals to those seeking a more serene escape. Its quieter streets, refined aesthetic, and unique cultural events, such as the Digital Graffiti Festival, offer visitors a richer, more intimate experience compared to the bustling and more tourist-driven atmosphere of Rosemary Beach.
Beyond the beach, there are numerous activities for visitors of all ages, although let’s be real you don’t go to this kind of heaven and not spend at least 90% of your time at the beach.
However, if you do decide to stray away from the crystal blue waters, you can rent bikes and cruise along the scenic paths of 30A, explore nearby coastal towns like Seaside, or take part in a sunset yoga session overlooking the water.
Accommodations range from charming cottages to luxury beachfront homes, allowing visitors the freedom to curate their experience. Whether you’re seeking a romantic getaway, a family-friendly vacation, or an escape that blends luxury with Mediterranean simplicity, Rosemary Beach delivers a slice of the Greek lifestyle in the heart of Florida.
Rentals
As far as hotels go, The Pearl & Rosemary Beach Inn are pretty much the only game in town.
From The Pearl’s homepage: “At The Pearl Hotel, the little details are of greatest importance. From the cocktail greeting at check-in and complimentary valet to the hand-delivered, freshly baked treat at bedtime, each moment is thoughtfully curated to feel like it was crafted especially for you.”
If you don’t feel like staying at a hotel that pampers its guests, there are a few rentals you can check out on Airbnb & VRBO. If you are looking to splurge we did find this amazing 10-bedroom beachfront mansion that comfortably accommodates up to 35 guests. It’s got an indoor theatre room, game room, fully equipped kitchens and wet bars, a private beach boardwalk & a private outdoor pool.

Food
Yes, we love food (and wine) and while this may not be a “foodie paradise” it does have an abundance of fresh food and some incredible restaurants.
Food lovers (which is everyone) will appreciate the local restaurants serving fresh seafood with a Mediterranean flair. The town square also regularly hosts markets and art festivals, creating a vibrant atmosphere that echoes the street life of Greek towns.
The Citizen - A must-visit, featuring coastal-inspired dishes that feel right at home with both American and European tastes.
Gallion’s - Offers an array of exceptional coastal fare and specialty craft cocktails presented in a sophisticated yet relaxed restaurant setting.
Edwards - An award-winning wine list, fine food, and professional service make Edward's a beloved establishment on Scenic 30A.
Pescado - Seafood grill and rooftop bar serving punchy cocktails and deliciously fresh seafood.
La Crema - La Crema Tapas and Chocolate was inspired by the incredibly popular tapas and chocolate shops of Madrid and Barcelona as well as the flavors. If you have a sweet tooth, this is for you.

See you next week!
